| O objetivo neste trabalho foi avaliar a suplementação de 5ppm de ractopamina (RAC) na ração, associada ou não à restrição alimentar, sobre as características da carcaça de suínos em terminação e a viabilidade econômica do seu uso. Foram utilizados 30 suínos machos castrados, Agroceres-PIC (peso vivo de 107,2±6,2kg), recebendo as dietas experimentais durante os 28 dias que antecederam o abate. Foi utilizado um delineamento em blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 2 x 2 + 1 (com ou sem RAC em rações com 1,04% de lisina total; à vontade ou restrição alimentar de 15%; e um tratamento adicional - controle - fornecido à vontade, sem RAC, contendo 0,8% de lisina total - ração padrão), totalizando cinco tratamentos e seis repetições. | The aim of this work was to verify the effect of different levels of true digestible lysine (TDL) and crude protein (CP) on diets on the carcass composition of the swine in the nursery phase. Eighty piglets Landrace x Large White, barrows and females, with initial weight of 9.1±1.2 kg and final weight of 21.5±4.8 kg, weaned at the 28 days, allotted in groups of two during 35 days in the nursery. A randomized block design in factorial 2x4 (two levels of CP - 16 and 18% - and four of TDL - 0.7; 0.9; 1.1 and 1.3%) with five repetitions was used. | O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar diferentes níveis de lisina digestível (LISD), em rações com reduzido teor de proteína bruta (PB), por meio do desempenho e das características de carcaça de suínos dos 20 aos 50kg. Foram utilizados 40 suínos machos, castrados, de elevado potencial para ganho de carne (peso inicial de 22,5±1,4kg e final de 47,8±3,4kg), distribuídos em delineamento em blocos casualizados, com cinco tratamentos (quatro níveis de LISD - 0,7; 0,9; 1,1 e 1,3% - em rações com 14% PB e um tratamento-controle, formulado de acordo com as tabelas brasileiras, com 1,03% LISD e 18% de PB) e quatro repetições, durante 31 dias. | The objective of this work was to evaluate the use of vegetable extract based addictives associated or not to symbiotics as an alternative for antibiotic as growth promoters for piglets at initial phase. It was used 125 pigs of commercial genetic line with initial weight of 7.4 ± 1.1 kg, weaned at 20 days of age, during 50 days. | Performance and carcass and cut yield of finishing pigs of three sexual categories fed diets with different levels of ractopamine were studied. Forty-eight hybrid animals (initial weight of 92.1±2.4 kg) were distributed in a completely randomised design in 3 × 2 factorial arrangement (three sexual categories: surgically castrated males, two females and immunologically castrated males - with or without 10 ppm of ractopamine), totalling six treatments and eight repetitions with one animal per experimental plot during 28 days.
